About Bare Metal Cyber

Cybersecurity education built to be useful beyond the classroom.

Bare Metal Cyber was created by Dr Jason Edwards to make cybersecurity knowledge easier to reach, understand, revisit, and apply—whether someone is preparing for a certification, leading a security program, changing careers, teaching a class, or keeping pace with a field that never stands still.

Dr Jason Edwards

Education, authorship, leadership, and service.

Dr Jason Edwards is a cybersecurity educator and author whose work spans certification preparation, governance, risk, compliance, privacy, cloud security, artificial intelligence, security leadership, and practical professional development.

He has taught more than 2,000 students, written or contributed to more than 24 cybersecurity books, and holds credentials including CISSP and CRISC. His doctoral work focused on management, information systems, and technology, reinforcing an approach that connects technical safeguards to organizational decisions, people, and risk.

Before focusing on cybersecurity education and writing, he served as a U.S. Army Armor officer, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. That experience continues to shape how he thinks about leadership, preparation, systems, uncertainty, and the difference between a plan that looks complete and one that works under pressure.
